'96 was a good music year! All those great Monica songs and Aaliyah's If Your Girl Only Knew. I still want a guy to serenade me with that Joe song, All the Things. And My Boo by the Ghost Town DJs! That was good music. Ginuwine's Pony was a GREAT song :)

I really like a lot of those songs. Keith Sweat's 'Twisted'? We used to sing that song at soccer practice when we were running suicides. I still flove that song!

There really are more songs for this year that I like than for '98, my graduation year. Maybe there is something about being 16 and loving everything? Oh, heck if I know!

Hmph. I like your year much better than mine! I think it's b/c there's more pop fluff in my year, and more R&B/hip-hop - GOOD R&B/hip-hop, not the crap that's out now - in your year (and really, just songs in general with actual lyrical substance). I didn't realize it in 99, but now I think my year was the beginning of the Era of Suck that mainstream music is going through right now. But I probably like/love at least 75 of the songs on your list. 96 was a good year. Maybe unwindingdreams is right and it is something about loving everything when you're 16. (Although I was 15 for 8 months of the year.)

I'm a little surprised you didn't like No Diggity by Blackstreet. Not sure if I'm just surprised that you don't like it, or if I'm just surprised that anyone in general doesn't like it. I can't think of any R&B fans I know in RL who don't.

Actually, I do like that song. I was a big fan of Blackstreet. They played some interesting remixes to their songs in NC when I was there for college. I think No Diggity just played itself out to me.
