Change We* Can Believe In!

* No fags!

That's the only way I can really describe how the Obama Administration has left me feeling this week. We voted for him, and we'd do it again, because being ignored by the Administration is better than being hunted down from a helicopter with assault rifles.

But we are in a unique position - the product of an interracial, half black, half ( Read more... )

I don't know what to say, since you pretty much said it all; Obama has REALLY disappointed me with this bullshit. :/

When I get a moment, I might actually be able to draft this one.

Take the tank and protester photo from Tianamen Square - reduce it to a line drawing.

Give a LGBT flag to the protester.

Label the tanks 'Economy, 'Health Care Reform' and 'North Korea.'

Caption the driver of the lead tank Obama with the following dialog balloon - 'Either get on, or get under - but I'd rather you got on, because once they're done with one of these, you can have it.'

Not very surprised here. Unfortunately.

It's not that. It's not "once we're done, you can have it." It's not apathy, it's not neglect. It takes effort to author a memo as insulting as the one that was presented.

This was no administration going "well we have to defend this law" - this was a legal brief filed by the DOJ comparing gay marriages to incest and arguing that gay couples' rights are not being infringed because they still have the right to marry opposite-sex partners.

It takes effort, real effort, to go to those lengths and that's what is downright horrible. I've been a strong proponent of "wait for the right time" with this administration, but not when the administration is actively working against the rights that the President campaigned in favor of. It's more than being neglected or shined on or a promise being broken - it's downright betrayal.

You can add a caption to the protestor - 'Why'd you bother?'

See. THIS is how the Republican Party can grow again. Invite the gays on board because "Not being shot at for sport" is all that really factors into most gays voting democrat.

I tried to vote for Hilary, but she disappeared... I'm not surprised by Obama though, when he started parading around his minister on the campaign I figured he'd be no better than the rest of the politicians... that's why wasted my vote on Nader. (:
