To everyone who's graduating this year, or not, since it applies anyway! :D To everyone who needs a few wise words from a realistic person. It's lovely reading straight talk like this.
Yes, really beautifully and truthfully written, particularly this part:
Despite popular culture, love doesn’t happen by chance, at first sight, across a crowded dance floor. It grows slowly, sinking roots first before branching and blossoming. It is not a silly weed, but a mighty tree that weathers every storm. You will find, that when you have someone to love, that the face is less important than the brain, and the body is less important than the heart.
thanks for this, love♥ i'm graduating in a few days and it's so wonderful to read things like this rather than the monotonous 'aspire-to-be-perfect-at-what-you-do' speeches, haha. it's made me feel comfortable being who i am. memming it. ♥
Definitely far, far, far better than those kind of speeches. Perhaps it helps that this guy is neither an educator nor a politician, but an author and litigator :)
You're welcome, darling ♥ It would be a waste not to share such things!
This was inspiring and a wake-up call for me all rolled in one.
If you work, then day by day, bit by bit, your soul is chipped away, disintegrating until there’s nothing left. A rock has been ground into sand and dust. I need to stop working.
I knew others would like it as much as I did :D It's nice reading words from a realistic person instead of all the normal inspirational speeches from educators.
