Post Xmas presents for reira_21 and ayes_sid

It's time for two post Xmas presents to get posted. Both deal with Severus Snape in one way or another and therefor feel kind of related to me, so that's why I post them together. I apologise for the silly Snape icon, which doesn't quite fit the moods of the ficlets. It's the only one I have.

Yesterday I was so tired I didn't even open the computer, and today there is this wonderful surprise waiting for me!

It is just perfect, angst and rain and no dialogue (I prefer descriptions). I absolutely loved the image of a watery veil between them, I find it very powerful.

I'm happy that you love the little scene so much and that it was a pleasant surprise in the morning after a stressful day. Lucky that you prefer descriptions to dialogue - I didn't know that. :-)

Your picture was so evocative - I immediately thought about Severus watching Lily go with no chance to turn the situation around.

I was just wondering if I had to go to the post office and threaten them to burn the whole building down (often, this is the only way to receive a parcel in this lovely country), when I found your present waiting for me in the box mail this morning! :D

The chocolate is an Austrian brand, so at least it comes from a German speaking country. :-D I discovered a wonderful little shop not far away from where I live and they sell hand made chocolates of the most unusual varieties. It's such a lovely shop, and the owners really love what they do. That's where I bought your chocolate. I liked the look and the ingredients and just thought that it had to taste lovely, too. :-)

Wow--you express yearning so well, with subtlety and great images. My favorite lines are the rain creating "a watery veil," and the last line about loves that are never "allowed to breathe fresh air" or "expressed in broad daylight." Nice!

The watery veil came to my mind because of the Veil Sirius fell through when he was killed by Bellatrix. When Severus watches Lily walking away from him, this is a bit like death as well.
