So at Christmas, Tom gave be this big deal about how I'm always sacrificing my needs and happiness for his or Frankie's. I told him I'm a mother, it's my job.  So he promised to make up for it, we could do something big for my birthday

I'm sorry you feel so frustrated, Jen. It's sometimes hard to have always to renounce to something.
IMHO you should start to look for a job, even if you're fine financially, extra money would allow you to some little luxuries, once in a while and I think you would also feel more realized, I guess being always at home can be frustrating too!

I can certainly understand your feelings and think that you should consider getting a job if it means that there will be less financial stress on you all...and you'll be able to do those 'extra' things you want to do.

You are certainly under a lot of stress. It is good that you can rant here. You need a safe place to do that. Just blowing off steam helps put things in perspective.
