I went to the 23h cinema session last night to see Blodd Diamond, it didn't schock me quite as much as Hotel Rwanda, probably because it felt very americanised (lots of noisy bombings and american style action). Anyway it wasn't bad despite Dicaprio! And today I didn't do much am making lasagna and tidying some stuff at the same time!

D'oh. DiCaprio is a fantastic actor. You may hate the celebrity business around him (even though he's almost never in any stupid magazine), but you can't say that a movie was good DESPITE he was there!
You say your father has some premade ideas, but you sounds like him sometimes :p

Sure I can say that I don't like him as an actor! Why not? Are all opinions preconceived? In that case your opinion that I have preconceived ideas is preconceived too! Besides I saw most of the films he played in, and though his style has matured he remains inadequate in a lot of them, or clumsy. And without fail he becomes the embodiment of a sick industry and discredits the films he is in when they are set in such a different context. Casting him in it was wrong from the start, because of his acting style and because of what he represents. A lesser known actor would probably have been a better idea!

The problem is that girls made him a very well known actor for the bad reasons. You can check the list of my favouriute 10 hotties, he's not there. I love him because of his skills and I really think he is a fantastic actor. Now I haven't seen Blood Diamond so I can't have my opinion there :)
I just think it's unfair that he's considered as a handsome man and so not that good actor just because of stupid magazines. Which is good is that he's been away from this for some times now and played in some really good movies lately. It's like Clooney. People will avoid his moves just because of what fangirls made of him. I was the first to do that, until I realised I liked them both because of their skills and not only because they were good looking.
