I am so so SO fed up with Mohammed Al-Fayed's insistence on the Royal Family being behind some big conspiracy that led to the deaths of Diana and Dodi. Inquests have revealed that the driver of the car was going at about twice the legal limit and that he was drunk, as well as the paparazzi hounding and chasing them ( Read more... )

On a more amusing note, Boris Johnson, the Tory London mayoral candidate, has written to Epping Forest residents urging them to vote for him in the upcoming mayoral elections. What's the problem with this, you ask? Epping Forest is in Essex, and because of this, we don't get to vote in the mayoral lections!!When I was working as a congressional intern, we received more than one letter from a constituent trying to sway our stance on federal judges and supreme court appointees. The problem is that the Senate confirms or rejects the president's nominees; the House (where I was working) has nothing to do with it ( ... )

Don;t you love it when politicins do their research? :P

One the Zimbabwe front, I think one of the problems is that there's only so many ways you can say "they still haven't released the results. The oposition is still claiming that they're too busy rigging them to release them." However crap it may be, the situation's not changing.

That said... yes, it is dragging on quite a lot, isn't it? There was an article on the BBC news website a little while back entitled something like 'why Diana is still making the headlines' which amused me somewhat.
