For the Fourth of July

We sang two hymns in church this Sunday in honor of the holiday.  America the Beautiful, and this one, that I had not heard before.  It's apropos to the holiday and the times, as it was when it was written in the 1930's.  The music is the Finlandia Hymn; you can find midis of the tune here, as Be Still my Soul (tinny but recognizable), and here ( Read more... )

On a totally unrelated note, we cleared a huge chunk out of the attic -
but there's more stuff now scattered through the rest of the house. BUT, I just moved 2 boxes of sweaters into the attic, and will soon add a much larger bin of hats!

You still can't walk through the house without stepping on stuff, tho'....
