Nataku has... let us say he has wandered, and one of the advantages of being a god is that when one wanders one can wander more or less anywhere one pleases. (So long as one can be found when one's father needs one.)

He leans around the door of the room, and stares. Caitlin's older than he is, but she's not an adult, and he's only met the one other child before, and he is curious.

"Who are you?" he asks, and slides around the door frame to stand straight on the rug.

The head comes up, the book goes down, like a shot -- she doesn't take well to being startled. But the boy doesn't seem like an immediate threat, and there's something comfortingly familiar about his straightforwardness. "Catlin," she says, equally blunt. "You?"

"I'm Nataku." He steps forward, his hands hidden in his sleeves at his sides.

"What are you reading?" It's a question that works wonders with the Field Marshall, provided you don't mind him actually explaining (Nataku doesn't mind, and doesn't get to talk to the man often anyway).
