Inspired by my brother I feel like splurging - like going out and wasting an unholy amount on something that I'll ever never have occasion to wear, or that I could've done just as well with in buying a cheaper version. i know exactly what you mean. i try to avoid getting myself stuck into a miserable rut of self-pity because it's almost fun to go over the long long list of reasons i'm not worth anything & never do squat about it.

& i third Rowan & your art teacher. you should definitely send your art off to publishers & stuff. the thrill of seeing your art in a magazine or even a zine or just some "official" place is incredible.

Oh, I second the "fun" thing. What's the point in being happy with yourself? It's so boring. :p It's a bad habit that I need to kick, but not until I finish embodiment... :3 A good chunk of my entries count on my and that pit of misery.

I've been thinking I might take everyone up on what they're saying and find some teeny tiny local publisher, or something. There's a book that my Art Teacher lent me that gets updated every year with the addresses and handy infomation of publishers and magazines. I must get myself to the library.

do it! do it! then you can journal daily about the angst & stuff of being a struggling illustrator instead, & you can just ditch that pit of misery. =P

& when you get something published, you absolutely have to post scans & details so i can go out & buy it. xD
