I like your writing style because it's casual. I try my best to keep mine casual, to mask the dirty fact that I have a degree in English... hehe
And I totally agree with hating "conversate." I do, however, very much like the word "converse," but that's probably because it's real where the latter is not...
Casual is a great way to describe my writing style. In school, because of my fancy business courses, I had to write a lot of papers that were very formal, so I figure formal is for school and work and my casual style is for journaling ;o) I think you write like a casual writer who happens to know the rules of grammar, spelling and punctuation LOL.
One correction... I didn't get to go to Costco. Someone else went and brought the pizza back with them. ;) Thinking about going this week sometime though...
First, congratulations on the job offers! I saw this entry first, and I was like... um, work? shipyard? what?! So I went back and read and then it made sense. I'm so happy for you! And I'm impressed--dealing with 11 unions?! I've only been dealing with my dad's since August, and I'm going insane. :)
Next, thank you so much! For the prayers and the compliments! My father would love to know that someone out there is praying for him. (Though I don't think I'm going to even try to explain, "Well, dad, I've been blogging about these short-sighted idiots you keep running into...") Still, both of those things really mean a lot, so thank you. And I wish I had more time to devote to writing too!
I can see how it would be confusing if I all of a sudden talked about working at a shipyard without introducing the concept first! Can you imagine me- 5'2 108 lbs, in my high heels and pencil skirts- working on a ship? Or even being on a ship that wasn't a cruise ship? Even if it was a cruise ship- gross- those are so germy.
Whenever I refer to a friend online I just refer to them as a friend. My parents must think I have like 50 "friends." It would be funny to try and explain the relationship otherwise. I enjoy it when they ask for more info- "Which friend is this?" "Oh, one of my mommy friends, you don't know her. Anyways..."
Any new updates on your dad's legal case? I hope they fry!
