I stopped smoking 8 years ago. The hardest time period was the first few months. Going to bars and parties was the worst. Everyone seemed to be smoking and it is just natural to have a beer and a smoke. People can smoke around me now and it doesn't even phase me.

You will feel much better when it is all out of your system. I quit by getting a massive upper respiratory infection. I couldn't smoke for 2 weeks and it wasn't from a lack of trying. I just couldn't inhale smoke. So, I figured that was a good time to try to stop and I never bought another pack. I felt kind of 'blah' for a month. But once everything was said and done, I felt great. A pack of smokes was $1.75 then. What do they cost now?

oh yeah... depends where you buy 'em. wawa is the cheapest @ like 2.20 for camels or marlboros. but it's usually around 3 or 3.25. in d.c. it's 4$... well it was a couple years ago anyways. what is this, canada?
