I think my advice right now, seeing what you're looking at, is to focus on all the parts for a single, amazing lolita ensemble first. Any of these could be super cute, providing that they are in your size etc. But like... the brown shoes don't match any of the dresses you're looking at right now. The Capelete with its red tartan probably only matches the solid black dress. Etc.

Think of it like building up a nice Gaia avatar, making all the colors and styles match, and repeating colors at least three times.

A basic outfit of ANY Lolita style should include:
The JSK
Blouse under JSK
Bolero over blouse (optional)
Petticoat (NOT optional!!)
Leggings/tights
Socks
Shoes
Jewelry (assorted options)
Something on your head (bow/hat/bonnet/etc)

With each piece complementing the others. Some lolita styles are more simple and some are more complex, but it's the basic structure and modesty that makes it lolita!

The older I get, the more into loli I am. Of course being a 22/24 doesn't help anything...I keep telling myself that if I get back into a 16/18 and stay that way for at least six months I"ll treat myself to an entirely new wardrobe.

The husband approves of this decision.

I think you're beautiful no matter what size you are :) Hell, I've been sitting at an 18/20 for years now. I know it would be good for me to lose weight, but I'm just unmotivated. So I'm just gonna get stuff that will look good on me even though I'm not a cute tiny size.

If I could get 60lbs off, and keep it off, I'd be a very happy lady. That's all I want, really. And that would be the 2-3 sizes I want to drop.

Keeping the weight off is my biggest issue. High levels of stress just make me gain and gain and gain. Once we get out on our own I'm hoping to go walking every day (there's a really great park here with a walking track, plus all the neighborhoods have sidewalks, something Oxford didn't have), and if I could get a 3-4 mile walk in every day, it'd do me a world of good. That would only take about an hour. So doable.

And I think you're lovely no matter what, as well :) I think I'm closer to you now than when I lived in Oxford lol, you should come visit once we escape the Hell House :)
