I need a good corset. Now, I have specifications. I need it to be a good quality corset, it needs to be a purple velvety type fabric, and if at all possible it shouldn't be too incredibly expensive. I know that last one and the first one may be a bit hard to get together, but really I just need y'all to shoot me some website links. I know about ( Read more... )

The key to good corsetry, unfortunately, is to get them custom made. You need someone who is going to make you a corset based on your measurements - not one that is already pre-sized. Also, depending on the amount of... assets... you have, metal boning is important. It holds everything up and in and where it ought to be. A lot of corsets that be be had for cheap have plastic boning - and they don't work for bigger busted women.

Unfortunately, a custom-made, metal boned corset is gonna cost you several hundred dollars.

I have a corset I really like that I got from Gallery Serpentine that has metal boning. It's an awesome corset...I paid a little over $200 for it. When I say I don't want it to be incredibly expensive I mean I don't wanna pay over $300 if at all possible.
I definitely don't want anything to do with the cheap corsets anymore after having a real one. :)

I got a really nice one at the Ren. Fair. Its all leather. Maybe you can go to a leather shop or something and get one. Have you looked into Fredrick's of Hollywood? I've never got one of their's but my friend has a nice one. I got mine from Torrid and its nice, but not anything super fancy.

Unfortunately, we don't really have any leather shops that I know of around here. MS kinda sucks like that.
Fredrick's has ok corsets and so does Torrid, but they're not exactly what I'm looking for.
Thanks though :)

Well and this is not what you're looking for either- cause a key word was velvet- but they're affordable. And yes getting one custom made is the way to go- but unless you have a seamstress in your closet you'll be spending a lot to get one made ( ... )

totally missed the cheshire part... but you could still work with any of those- the underbust one especially...
