I need your animal expertise again. Our outside cat, Onyx, has a big lump on his stomach in between his hind legs. It's almost above his "knees" I guess. I can't find any puncture wounds or anything and he doesn't seem to mind me touching it. I didn't try to push on it or anything. You have any ideas on what it could be? No idea - it could be tumor, it could be an abscess that isn't near rupturing yet, it could be a hernia.

You're not going to like what I have to say, per usual, but you need to speak to a vet. Until you can afford it, however, you need to watch his eating and drinking habits and make sure the lump isn't draining, changing shape or anything like that.

Ok...thanks. I'll see if I can call the vet tomorrow....maybe I can use a credit card to take him in if I have to.

Maybe its a puncture wound that has healed? Try putting a hot compress on it. She's right though, you need to take it to the vet. This is where I would say "Don't have more animals than you can afford" but I have four ferrets, a dog and two mice, so its not my place to say that. I'd be screwed if one of my pets got sick.

Yeah...I totally agree. I'm hoping to get money from school fairly soon so maybe I can take him in the next few weeks.
