From an amazon store - it said i'd receive it by 12/20 at latest. I emailed the vendor on 12/18 because I was worried, and she emailed me back and said that her house had burned down 2 weeks previous and thats what the holdup was. But that the book had been at her office and she had mailed it a few days earlier and it should be here by christmas (which it wasnt).

I figured at the time she was actually mailing it that day and saying she had mailed it a few days earlier, because I take customer service calls and people do that all the time.

I don't know what to think, she had really good feedback on other stuff. If her house burned down, I feel sorry for her. But I want the book now! Its not an easy book to get or I'd just have canceled the transaction on the 20th.

Hmmm....surely she's not lying to you just to keep your money. I mean if it was in her house when it burned down you'd think she'd tell you.....
I think it definately should have gotten to your house before now.....if she mailed it out when she said she did.
