I'm so sorry to hear this. Is there anything any of us can do? If you have cancelled the cards right away, the bank has to reimburse anything taken in the meantime. Have a look for the bag in local hedges and gardens if you haven't already - when I was burgled, we found my handbag out the back in the park.

Thanks for the tip, I'll have a look around when I dare to leave the house.

Fortunately there's plenty of food in the freezer, so we'll survive the weekend! I'm confident that at least one of the replacement cards will arrive on Monday - they were all pretty prompt when I lost my purse in October (although it took PC World a week to tell me someone had handed it in!).

How awful. I really hope it turns up for you - when we had the robbery at the shop back in November, the thieves took everyone's purse and one did actually turn up a few weeks ago. A dog walker found it abandoned with all cards inside, in a field two villages away.
