After a Long Time, Updates

It's been a while since I posted here. I am now semi-retired (if a good job came up, I wouldn't automatically say "No!"). We've lost three cats since my last post and gained four strays (I swear, Bast seems to enjoy sending us the "interesting" ones). That covers the basics. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask, the worst you'll get

Hey, Cateagle! Long time no see, but then, you already said something like that.

You'll probably notice that LJ seems to be more than a bit moribund these days - lots o' people are feeling jumpy and paranoid about Livejournal being bought out and moved under Russian laws, so there's a lot of ship-jumping going on. Me, I'm not feeling all that much of either, but I did take the excuse to create a backup journal over on Dreamwidth - same name, and I'll probably mirror the accounts for as long as it remains fairly easy. One good reason for doing something of the sort is that there are rumblings and rumors that the new owners are planning to implement some sort of purge of inactive accounts - if you tend to go long stretches without posting and want to keep your old entries, a backup would probably be a good idea.

You say you're semi-retired; how's that going for you? If you're anything like my father, you've probably got too much of the habit of work to take to it easily - it took him two or three tries before he got the hang of it
