I don't get to vote, but I'm leaning towards no. Ginny's parts are fine, but Harry's kind of a nonentity - if he's usually such an easily-defeated schlub then why would Ginny care about him? - and the pacing is off: almost as soon as we learn what the problem is, the voice of God (or Hermione) drops in to tell us that it's not a problem after all. So there isn't really any resolution or action, it's just "Harry was depressed and now he's not". It doesn't even succeed in showing Ginny cheering up Harry, because it's not Ginny that cheers him up, it's Hermione. Also (much less importantly) I think the part about the hangover potion would be improved by describing some of its effects more specifically rather than telling us only that the people who tried it don't like it.

Very good suggestions about expanding the story, but as a short story I liked it.

I don't get to vote either, however, I disagree with the previous comment. I liked this piece. Its a small little bit of Harry and Ginny's life. And really, considering what Harry went through with Umbridge its not surprising that he would get drunk at hearing that she wants to be reemployed at the Ministry. Harry is finally free of that woman and her "Ministry policies", he is happy doing a job he is good at and Umbridge decides she was wronged and wants to go back to the Ministry...um NO!

I think this fic also shows that Ginny not only worked at cheering him up, her first priority was to be by his side, sober him up and make him talk to her. I also didn't think that this fic showed Harry as an easily defeated schlub, so he got drunk and drowned his frustration in Firewhisky... - he had a valid reason.

I don't think Hermione was the only one who cheered him up, she was just the messenger.

My favourite was the irony of the only opening at the Ministry being a job in Magical Maintainance with Reg Cattermole...awesome!

I also don't get to vote, but I agree with the first comment. I hate the fact that the solution to the problem is solved right away, leaving ginny comforting harry in the background of the story
