I wrote this in reply to another comment and was rather suprised to have managed to write it in the midst of a comedown from a 3 day blender (like a bender, but messier, and with more ingredients) so i saved it. After re-editing and spell checking a little, i offer you my follwin answer to 'but a cat macro is just a picture of a cat with a caption wikipedia says/it doesn't say in your rules that
( ... )
I don't necessarily agree with all of them (I do with most of them, though), but the one you make about people macro'ing their own cats is a valid one. Because the macros are making fun of the cats as much as the people in the flame wars/thread arguments they're used in, it's hard to be objective enough to make a good macro of ones own cats. And then you have to take in to account how when you post pics of your own cat, you're expecting to get compliments on the damn thing-yes, that's a sweeping generalization so I'm not going to try and defend it.
For these reasons (and the fact that I take truly shitty pictures, I avoid making macros of my own cats or even posting pictures of them to be macro'd. I made a single macro of one of my cats out of nostalgia since he'd been missing for several weeks (and is still missing, unfortunately).
Yes, this was my cat, and you can see my point about my total lack of camera skills.
out of interest, what don't you agree with? The part about cat owners was the generalisation. The part about how macros began is true, you can't disagree with a fact. You are welcome to disagree with my opinions, after all, that's what powers the internet.
Ahh, sorry, I wasn't trying to make it look like I was attacking your arguments. I was agreeing with most of them, in fact. I just have teh dumb today and I can't articulate worth shit even on good days.
And regardless I just re-read what you wrote, what I wrote, and then facepalmed because I can't read for shit today, either. Do ignore me, please.

And I'll stop rambling now.
