video conversion help needed

kaylakittie has a minor problem, she has a video from her time in NZ but it is on High 8 PAL format, and needs it to be converted to us format - preferably onto DVD - but VHS would also work, any suggestions???

There is that place over by the Catbox. Thats the only thing I can think of

Failing that (the above stuff), ask smokedamage; tell him I directed you thusly. He's Australian with a ridiculous amount of experience in video and the like.

cool i may ask him anyhow...
i understand there are several places that do it, i am worried about finding one that i can trust, the other big issue is that it is Hi-8 (read camcorder format) on top of the PAL... so that will be the hard part from what i am understanding...
