Hi hun, obviously I have a very limited knowledge of midwifery but perhaps this could be the feeling that spurs you on to be a freaking amazing midwife? You can help change the way women labour.

To be honest the thought of lying on my back for hours whilst trying to push a person out of me is awful, surely standing/squatting and letting gravity do it's thing would be best? Do you have to have obs done so frequently? I HATE hospitals (nearly fainted in one last week just visiting my mum) and I know that if/when I have a sproglette I would want as little intervention as possible. I'd need any machines that make a noise to be muted, anything that shows heart rates turned away from me or covered, I'd hate to have a cannula stuck in me so I can't move. Awful. Worst nightmare.

Take it easy, rest and spend some time chilling with Luke :)
