My Emma and J/B loving heart(s?) are warmed...I love how you brought together how you can be in love with someone and not know it, and to Jake it's so obvious. Thanks!
Emma is my favourite Austen novel. always has been. i'm a sucker for "best friend" situations. its so easy to draw parallels between the two. Bella is just as airheaded and stubborn as Emma at times. You wrote this really well. thankyou.
Seriously, I love you so hard for this. I cannot even tell you how reading the Twilight series drove me mad, with Meyer's inability to grasp true literary concepts. Jane Austen would have laughed herself silly at Edward & Bella's "true love." They were Willoughby & Marianne if they were anyone. And the line about not knowing Northanger Abbey was satire is so Bella. Poor, thick girl. But I loved that you had her grow up and start to realize at the end, because if ever the girl would, she'd figure it out. But, nope, eternally eighteen. Sigh. Anyway, loved this. And now you. And Mr. Knightley, because he's perfect. And Henry Tilney for that matter.
The perfect remedy for all of SMeyer's misplaced comparisons between Edward and Austen's romantic leads. It's been a while since I read a Jake/Bella fic I liked to so much. Thanks!
