The house doesn't fulfill the requirements for the license it needs to have. Hatfield House doesn't want to pay for the remedial works, or the license, so we're out.
So, what, they're just going to let the place sit empty rather than shell out for a bit of work? That doesn't seem economically advisable unless they just don't have the money for it.
Sorry - wasn't entirely clear. The remedial works will take substantial amounts of time, during which they'd have to put us up somewhere else. Then, they'd have to get the license, which costs.
I think they're going to do the works, then let it to someone who doesn't need the license...
