I love how finally, FINALLY Arthur is needed to pull out the sword because really writers? And the sensations Merlin experiences as the sword is pulled is breathtaking. I love this *heart;

The way the show did this scene, Merlin the king maker, didn't bother me, but I love this description, especially the way Merlin physically experienced the sword coming free. That was beautifully described.

I liked the idea of Merlin *feeling* the sword come free too. I'm glad you enjoyed my take.

I'm glad that came across here. from the moment I watched that scene...I just knew it had to be more complicated than what we saw. Merlin and Arthur and the magic and the sword...it's all bound together. literally two sides of the same coin. And If Merlin simply LET Arthur pull the sword free...it felt too imbalanced for me.

anyway. long rant. sorry.

I'm glad you liked this.

I felt annoyed at that scene as well! Glad to know I wasn't the only one. I really like this - how it was a joint effort and that Arthur truly couldn't pull out the sword unless he believed.
