I just can't believe the venom being spewed by the Republicans about health care. What is wrong with these people that they don't want everyone to have access to health care. They do it in others countries. I just don't get it. Republicans are all about fear!

All Conservatives - whether they be Tories in the UK; Republicans in the US; Liberals in Australia - all believe in a user pays system. If you use it, you pay for it. If you can't afford it, you don't have access to it.

Appalling philosophy, I know!

Another thing about Conservatives is that they don't like progressive change, and they'll use fear as a tool to prevent change. Hopefully, they won't be able to succeed in this case.

From what I've seen on the news, the US spends more money per person on health care than those countries with universal health care.

I hope they adopt a system like Medicare in Australia - it's brilliant! :D

It is getting really bad. Conservative appeal to worst in people. I hate these people who have everything but they want to deny those who having nothing. There are these town hall meeting all over the country to discuss health care. All these crazy Republicans are going in and yelling and basicaly acting like mob. The say it's a "grass roots" movements which it not. The Health Care industry is organize these things. But what is really scary is that the tone has become racists. They are talking about lynching. Hey this must be the logest reply in LJ history.

I knew the private health insurance industry would put up a fight.

I guess it's up to the grassroots Democrats to put up a fight too!

Although, I hear there are some congress-people who purport to be Democrats who are putting up a fight and making amendments?

I guess some form of improved health-care is a start. It can be improved on again later once people see it isn't as bad as they first thought *hug* ;o)
