One nitpick: "The Major was in a particularly fowl mood..." It should read, "foul," otherwise I get mental images of Klaus in a chicken suit. ^^;

There's such a nice feeling about the whole story, and the piano (I could hear it play, in my mind :D) makes such a lovely background to their talk.
