I'm new to Castle fandom and wouldn't mind picking up a few recs for reading. I'm looking primarily for case-fics, episode tags and missing scenes, preferably with a friendship focus (though pairings of any kind are not necessarily a deal breaker) and not PWP.

I'd rec Contrite Shadow's fic. Its mostly casefic, that is mildly Castle/Beckett (they are not together however and are dating original characters). The stories are part of a series, you'd have to start with the earlier ones.

Let me recommend "Naked in Death" by JD Robb or any of its sequels. There's a very Castle/Beckett relationship, only more so.
