From Gracie being Danny's rock and refusing to give up on her Uncle Steve, to teaching Danny that he needs to hold Steve's hand, to Danny being the one who brings Steve back...and the end with the nurse being worried but it being the kiss making his heart speed up...SO PERFECT.

Gracie is wiser than, like, everyone. People should listen to her more often. And the heart monitor thing came about through a convo with fictionalcandie about how Scott and Alex were totally hot for each other. One of us said something like, "I think their proximity to each other could be measured with a heart monitor," and I immediately knew it had to go in the fic. :-)

More bunnies are in the works, for sure! I had to take a slight break for RL craziness (lots of moving of various family members), but I'm back on track for the time being, at least.

I adore Grace being by Danny's side through the whole thing, being the one other person who refuses to give up too. With her seeing what her Daddy needs and teaching Danny about holding Steve's hand, it was just lovely. If Steve ever were to be in a situation like this in canon, even without a romantic angle, I still see Danny being the one who would stubbornly refuse to give up hope. It's so IC.

I think Grace might possibly be magical. She certainly has a hold on Danny that no one else does. And, well, she just makes everything better. She needs wings or something.

And I agree that Danny would be the one by Steve's side, even in canon. Stubborn is his thing. He makes it work. And he does seem to be pretty opposed to Steve getting hurt, doesn't he?
