I think you managed to make John a bigger jackass than he actually was. I'm not sure if I should applaud that or run away :P

Well, remember, this IS "John-Fucked-Up-In-The-Head-Fic" and how much more fucked up can you get then pointing a gun at your mom?

I think it's a great set up. I'm looking very forward to seeing what you have in mind that makes John end up thinking the way he does in this scene.

I'll tell you this... the Connor Family never seems to catch a break. There will be jungle era!

...Oh, damn. o___O

John's jumble of confusion, hate, and love cuts the heart. I dunno, I actually found angryteenager!John somewhat sympathetic here. I still want to chase him with an electric prod for his seemingly thoughtless impulsivity (especially for Sarah's sake - "the sight of her in not-quite-tears offering worthless pity" *cries!*), but, yeah. It'd be out of love. Or something. Heh.

Awaiting to see where you go with this!

Well, I think he's more sympathetic just cause there's something more... THERE. That scene in S&D didn't give John ANY voice to his headspace. The outward calm he was showing HAD to be a total front, but people took it as it appeared and that made him something of a jerk. This wasn't even so much made to make him sympathetic as just have him make that much more sense.

Definitely. I was indirectly responding to Roxy's comment above (though I totally get that too!). I think the rampant John!hate started here because this was the episode where the (disturbingly sexist) mindless!lovebot!obsession reallllly got going. *scarred*

Character elaboration is completely sought for. I really liked S1 John (well, most of the time, lol), so this fic series is definitely on my "to read" list now.

Yeah, I know there's not a lot of John love, but it ain't written to inspire love lol. Just because it's from John's POV, doesn't mean he's right, and definitely doesn't mean he's being at all logical. I figure the boy at least deserves to be understood though. Considering what this fic is going to explore, I wanted a prologue that I thought placed him at the epitome of his messedupidness. Hopefully it'll make more sense as it progresses and not fall flat. :)
