yes i was thinking about a happy ending, but at the same time it's shanghai in the 1930s, and there's bright lights and entertainment and everything but somehow there's this feeling that nothing lasts there, and everything is fleeting, so i ended up writing that sort of ending. thank you so much!

oh god ;;;;;; this just. ugh. I'm such a sucker for Chinese history!au fics, and this was absolutely stunning. ot3 breaks my heart, though, especially broken krishan and unrealized layhan.

this fic was dark and sort of mysterious...I want to compare it to looking at something through smoke, but then that's just weird metaphors getting out of hand. but yeah haha I love your style in this, the descriptions were vivid and figurative at times, and I could really clearly relate to the characters and their emotions~

also I loved the Xiao lu / luhan dichotomy, very nicely contrasted did I mention I'm also a sucker for stage/real name conflicts and everything was well-portrayed. well done!

i was trying to write this as something wrapped up in smoke, you can see the shapes but you can't really make out what they are, so you're spot on with the metaphor over there! i'm happy that you loved the xiao lu / lu han dichotomy, at first it was just the whole stage persona versus his personality in real life, but as the fic went on it started becoming something that lu han may or may not be able to reconcile with himself. like, does he like yi fan because he likes him? or is he drawn to him because of the persona of xiao lu that he puts on? something to that effect! anyway thank you!
