You already know, over several podcasts, that I am a fan of Butler's Xenogenesis series. I was trying to decide *why* I like it, the other, and you know what? I have no real idea. It made me uncomfortable and it weirded me out and I was disturbed, and I really enjoyed the conversations and interactions and big big ideas all at the same time. So, that's pretty clever. And I had great difficulty every putting a book down...

Damn you, now you've added more books to my To Read list, too. Gak.

I was also going to suggest Butler - your reviews on GS have totally made me bump her further up the "must get to read this" list
