I like to say the Dirk Gently School of Driving has helped me find my way home for years now, just to see who blinks. It really works! :)

I'm glad it worked for you too and you are safe and sound at home again.

Sounds remarkably like the scenic detours my sister and I took at various times while driving around the south of England and in Cardiff. No such thing as "lost" in our driving manual!

We were very impressed with the fact that once we decided to stop and actually look at a map (my sister is a mapoholic - she has one for every county!) we discovered that we only had to go down one street and make one turn and we would be where we were supposed to be.

Except in Cardiff.

The one way street system got us, on our way to the Red Dragon Centre to visit the Dr Who Up Close & Personal exhibition, stand on "the paving stone" (which unfortunately we didn't get to do cos of the Food & Wine Fair being set up around it) and take myriad photos of the entry to The Hub (and giggle quietly to ourselves while staring over the fence at the paving stone as a local explained to visitors to Cardiff all about Torchwood).

But we fought back and got there in the end!

You know you're in trouble when the sight of Northgate gives you joy :)
