Yes, yes, yes, to all of this!! I adored this episode, I really truly did. In fact I'm not sure there was a dull moment.
Mary was perfect, and Sam Smith really knocked it out of the park. They gave her a lot to do, and she did it, and it wasn't melodramatic or clumsy, it was nuanced and subtle and just delicious (I loved the Baby back seat moment, and I can't help but wonder if she was insinuating that Dean was conceived there because how cool would that be!?! I mean no wonder he has such a close connection to Baby!!!)
And yes, the family music used in the correct way, just melted me! And Sam's lovely toes, hair and badass and determined state of mind even though he's injured and struggling without his brother (that last shot of Sam on the stairs all alone was 100% perfect).
I haven't seen one bad comment about this ep, but I tend o stick to LJ, but I loved this and I want more Toni, Mary and our boys. Bring it on Show!!!

♥ That would be pure perfection! I want this to be true SO badly -- do it, writers, DO IT! \o/
I tend o stick to LJ
You have much more sense than I. But this is something I shall be doing from here on in. Because yup, you're right -- in the friendly confines of LJ and my lovely flist, I have seen nothing negative so far. *crosses fingers*
(Psst! Thanks! It feels good to be back! *hugs back*)
I, too, was worried about how things would go down with Mary. But my fears were groundless. I was so impressed with her characterisation and the sensitive, nuanced way Sam Smith played her. Really intrigued for this season and yeah, stick to LJ...everyone on LJ seems to be pretty Show Positive!
Re Mary, I love how happy she was to get rid of that nightgown! I seem to recall Sam Smith saying something along the lines of how wretched that gown was, so I bet she's happy to get some real clothes, too.) :D
