Wow these are great! I'm always impressed by how your draw scenes, it's so cool and awesome and makes you curious about the fic! I love the first picture, with the yellow banner and the wings leaping out of the frame. (had to look away from the ribcage though. *is super ridiculous abut gory things* )
Wow, thank you! To get a comment like that from one of fandom's best artists is . . . wow. Thank you. <333
had to look away from the ribcage though.
I totally understand. It's one thing to have that piece right in your face while progressing from line to color, but looking at the finished version is another story entirely. Ew.
On the other hand, my first foray into "gore" has successfully grossed people out, so yay? ;)
Saw Cas and the CrimeScene tape and thought 'wahey, this totally looks like a CSI-crossover, be still my heart!' \o/ Love the glass-stained window in the background and of course the ribcage, because it looks awesome. Also yay for wings going outside the frame.
FYI: back in medschool I did have a bit of trouble eating chicken after my first anatomy lab (iirc I had to dissect a wrist) but other than that it never bothered me. Mmmmm, ribs.
The wings were always planned to leave the frame. What I wasn't expecting was for the crime-scene tape to follow them. Silly art, doing what IT wants to. XD

Yikes. Y'all cast-iron-stomached medical types are IMPRESSIVE. Me, I once tried to cut up a whole chicken for frying. I successfully cut the thing up (it was my first time) and cooked it. Then, taking my first bite of yummy fried chicken, I promptly (and vividly) remembered everything I'd seen while cutting. Veins, tendons, cartilage, weird membranes, eww. I didn't eat chicken for almost six months afterwards. And I LOVE chicken!!
Urgh, the ribcage, AWESOME! So gory and vivid. You used some very very cool angles here, too. It's so dynamic!
That image for the cover is great; the way Castiel's pose echoes the figure in the stained glass window is clever, you. And that crime scene tape, I just realised that you draw everything, so would have had to do it all; patience of a saint, dude
the way Castiel's pose echoes the figure in the stained glass window
Hee. That was intentional. But now I see that I forgot to color the angel's hair dark like Cas's. Forgot to color it, period. Oops. All that stained-glass crap distracted me.

Patience? Not hardly. You should've heard me whining over how long it took to do each letter. There was a LOT of whining, believe me. :)
Thank you!! The colors in the original are much more vivid than they seem to be on-screen. I can't determine if it's my scanner fading things, or just variances in different monitor settings. The colors looked okay on my Mac, but from my Windows work PC, they're faded out. Times like this, I really wish I was more of a digital artist. :p
. . . and if I'd really been thinking, I would've matched up the banner's background colors with those in the comic panel, just to keep things consistent. *sigh* Silly brain.
Ah, yes, the ribcage. Gruesome, but kinda fun to draw. And the moment I read that description in the story, I knew what had to be done. ;)
p.s. And yes, I am signed up to art for the Era bang. Oops. ;)

. . . now I buy chicken PARTS.
Go ahead and laugh. ;)
Glad you liked the ribcage, though. \o/
