Steven Moffat, I love your brain. It's better than Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory.
And that she mentioned that she was a better TARDIS pilot because she didn't get distracted like Eleven does. <3 <3 This has been my head canon since ToA. All the people complaining that she can pilot the TARDIS better than the Doctor?!? Come on! The Doctor is a crap TARDIS pilot--this is obvious. He improvises what seems to work (well enough) and then runs out the doors on the next adventure. I'm pretty sure anyone with enough patience and time and a decent helping of technical-mindedness could end up a better TARDIS pilot than the Doctor is *g* I'm gonna be a bit annoyed if it turns out she has special engineered TARDIS -piloting abilities.

This. Also, presumably the Doctor taught her a lot of her TARDIS skills because, well, who else is there left in the universe who knows anything about them (as much as I'd love for River to have studied TARDIS piloting as an archaeologist, somehow I doubt that's going to be canon) so I don't get why people are all "I hate River because on the Doctor flies the TARDIS" because River's skills are, in a way, a testament to the future!Doctor's skills.
Clearly River would be a better pilot, though because she doesn't get as distracted by shiny things...unlike Eleven who appears to have the attention span of a nine-year-old - one of the many reasons I find him adorable. <3
Personally, I think River rescued the TARDIS manual after the Doctor chucked it into a supernova before it became burned up. Because if anyone could somehow rescue the TARDIS manual, it's River.
Vortex manipulate next to a supernova, grab the manual, vortex manipulate back to an atmosphere before she dies of exposure? I like this. Someone should write that in a fic. Or maybe River discovers it in a dig somewhere after an unknown party grabs it before it's supernova-ed? Hmmm...I wonder if canon will ever resolve this...

What glorious crack is Moffat planning....??!?!
It sounds like several time periods have just gotten smashed together in one point in time. Dinosaurs + Romans + WWII + Modern day?!?.
*history nerd explosion of glee*
(Well, I believe you're in the UK right? I have the advantage of being able to watch the Today show live...though maybe you streamed it?)
