Lifeguarding is good or bad depending on where you're working. I work at a health club, and it is the most boring thing ever. I once worked at Hampshire College during the summer guarding for summer camps that used the poolroom. Now THAT was the best lifeguarding job ever. Maybe even the best job ever. We'd only really have to guard for hour intervals at a time and then take a break, plus there were two lifeguards at any given time. My job at Hampshire Fitness is so miserable and lonely, I don't know how I last through each shift. The worst part is an hour into the shift when you finally realize, "oh, that's how long an hour feels in this room." I hope your job is far better.
