I like Earl Grey with a touch of cream and sweetner.

Speaking of which....

I have vacillated wildly in my tea-drinking habits over the years. I have always enjoyed so-called "high tea" -- misnamed here in the States; in England it would be called "afternoon tea" or even "low tea" -- regardless of the particular variety served.

Years ago I used to claim that tea was really just an excuse for me to drink cream and sugar, or lemon and honey, and that plain ol' hot water would do equally well. (That was also back when I used to refer hot water with lemon and honey as "liquid voice," for reasons that are perhaps best left to the imagination.) Once I got over that and started paying attention to what leaves went in the pot, for a while I was partial to Earl Grey. (Although that may have sprung more from a desire to emulate Captain Picard than from any actual preference.) Eventually I wandered over to Darjeeling, which is much milder.

And then, no more than a few weeks ago, I stumbled across a little store selling over a hundred different teas. They had several already-brewed samples available, so I had my ( ... )

Of all the teas I tried in the last week, that White Tea at PF Changs was probably my favorite.

Your tea posts are cool.

Have you tried loose leaf tea? The difference between bag and loose leaf is tremendous. If you are serious about continuing to drink tea, you should get a good tea pot and some excellent tea. Not that I am biased or anything. :)

Why thankee! *blushes*

I assume the white tea that phaedra_amunet shared with me at PF Changs was loose leaf tea. Other than that, no, I haven't. I have a hand-me-down teapot from my sister and I have some excellent tea on its way from perfect_autumn.

I don't know how serious I am about drinking tea. I was saying somewhere today (I think in the entry following this one) that I decided to try different teas this week because A) the white tea was good so I thought I'd see what else I liked, 2) I am into trying New Things as of late, and C) it's free at work. Since I've enjoyed some of the varieties I've had this week, I will most likely end up drinking tea every once in a while. I'm starting to miss my coffee very hard.

But thanks for the links! I will definitely look into them if I get into having tea more often than just mornings at work. :o)

I think PF Changs uses bag tea, but I am not sure. If you got a pot with the leaves in there, then I am obviously wrong.

It's just that ever since I started drinking loose leaf (it has been quite some time now), I find bag tea so poor by comparison. Yes, I am a snob.

Peet's (the second link) makes excellent coffee (that is what they are known for more than their tea). It is all dark roasted though, so if you don't like strong coffee, you wouldn't care for theirs. They haven't made it to the Milwaukee area yet, though, so the only way you could get it would be delivered.

Check with phaedra_amunet. We definitely got a small pot. I don't know if there were leaves in it. Yeah, everything I've heard this week sounds like loose >> bag. (no, that's not Flea++.)I enjoy dark roasted cofee as long as I have my cream. Can't handle it black.

Thanks for the tips.
