a good day

I just watched the Inaugural Address with genuine pride, inspiration, and perhaps even a glint of hope.

Today is a good day.

That's actually really nice to read.

No, seriously. I mean that.

I'm feeling magnanimous today.

Magnanimity? In my Ikkkarus? It's more likely than you think.

But he bungled the actual inauguration!

No snark for that?!?

I laughed out loud when it happened and I actually considered it, but no, I'll save the snark for another day.

What about Aretha's hat? No snark for THAT monstrosity?

She wasn't sounding her best either, to be honest.

An interesting inauguration speech to be sure. I purposely didn't listen to it and then read the text -- it's long on personal responsibility and quite short on inspirational rhetoric. And save for one small nod at the end to his own ancestry, avoided talking about the symbolism of the day.

Hmm, I dunno if I agree about the 'quite short on inspirational rhetoric'. Not making a value statement either way on it, but as I watched it, I thought it was quite long on inspirational rhetoric. Then again, I haven't gone back and read the text.

I was actually thinking on the way back from lunch "I haven't heard from Caspian at all lately, I'll have to nudge him when I get back to the office", and here you are!

Since I can read the minds of everyone on the planet (and some that are off-world, too), I was actually waiting until enough people had the same thought. You took us to critical mass.

I also agree. And I'm Canadianish. :)
Good to hear from you again!
