Title: To Feel Pairing: Xabi Alonso / Steven Gerrard Rating: G Disclaimer: Imagination - it's a beautiful thing, no? Feedback > life. If you feel the need to give constructive criticism, please do.
hey, I was going to read your fic, but after reading 0sweet_tart0's Dan/Martin fic, my brain has just shut down to everything else.
I promise to return tomorrow (when hopefully my heart has stopped it's palpitations and my stomach has stopped trying to involute itself) and read your fic (which is likely to induce the same symptoms.
I have said before, and I will say again, your writing is just so wonderful, it makes reading it a glorious pleasure. You really have a way with words. No matter what you are writing, you still manage to do it in the most magnificent way.
Having said that, I liked this Xabi, I can see him like that.
He feels that he's overcomplicating everything, trying to find a hidden joy in the overtness of victory, new ways to suffer with each defeat. There must be a bigger reason, a greater purpose Yes, definitely can see Xabi thinking like this. Always trying to see reasons behind things.
It is the idea of a culture behind a badge that brings that culture to life, that cradles Xabi in its formidable grasp and lifts him to the arena of dreams. Beautiful line. I love it. Not just how it's written, but the idea behind it too. It's something so intangible yet so real, so full. I think all fans can feel that culture too.
The suggestion of depth which deepens the suggestion.Another superb line. I too find that subtlety is so

I completely understand why you couldn't read this straight away - I was totally blown away by that Dan/Martin fic as well (you may have noticed the massive comment I left)!
But thank you so much for this very flattering feedback! I'm very much inclined to disagree with what you said about using my fics to learn English techniques, but I appreciate the compliment all the same. :D
I'm glad you agree with how I wrote Xabi, and the idea of the Liverpool culture. I was hoping to reach out to Liverpool supporters and not just fic-readers, so a comment like yours is just lovely to receive, thanks so much again. :)
WOW, I'm speechless! This is really gripping. Wonderfully written. :)
My favourite line(even though it was VERY hard to choose just one): Eventually, it is the tears that glisten in Steven's eyes as the Kop roars its final breath that tell Xabi why that red jersey means so much Simply because I like to believe it means that much to him.

Most definitely, your fic isn't just about Stevie/Xabi, it's about Liverpool Football Club. Maybe that's why it seems so right. =)
