Bits and Pieces

Went out last night and met deralte. It was great fun, we nattered for hours, and could probably have nattered all night. It was so refreshing to talk to another fan in RL and not get the funny looks I usually get when I talk about HP to other adults.

My reaction to Sirius getting offed was "AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH" and a LOT of cussing and some crying, although I'll embarassingly admit to being relieved it wasn't Remus, although the poor thing NOW has to cope with losing Sirius again. *Sigh* This really does all feel too much like friends being killed and hurt with all the frustration that comes with not being able to do anything about it.

(Beware: HP5 Spoilers)I don't think that s/he can come back. It's not very well - Rowling-ish. I mean, JKR knows a lot about life and death and that means that she wouldn't have him/her come back. Harry's world (as she's stated) mirrors ours and in the real world, people don't come back. I know that all too well. JKR showed that he/she was gone for good in the last chapter, remember? Harry tried to get him/her back many times, but it didn't work. And that's what death is like. As Nick said, "they move on."

I'm thirteen. But y'know, most people say I act like an adult a lot of the time. So, my response is that kids under 10 (and *immature* 13 year olds)shouldn't try to get through this. The matters at the end of the book (death) are too hard to understand for someone that young who hasn't experienced grief of something like that first hand. Harry would seem crazy to them... and his behavior after the Death was perfectly understandable. I know how he feels...
