I hadn't read anything by either before. I think I will be looking for more.

I haven't red much at all this year. You've really been putting in the time.

*hugs* happy new year.

My excuse is that I did have a couple of months off work where I had nothing much else to do but read.

Happy New Year!

Ach, I've read none of these, though I think I've a TH White novel on my TBR pile somewhere as well as The Sword of God. *goes check on the book she can't recall the title of*

*comes back* Ah, no that's EB White I have.

It's interesting doing these polls - there are always a few where I haven't read anything in the list. I'll be the first to admit though, some of these books are pretty odd.

Odd in what way? *curious* (Not that I'm not used to odd. I mean, most of what I read is fantasy...)

I meant more unusual - at least one of them has been out of print for years (the Louise Gerard, in case your wondering) and several are translations from the French.

I used to read a lot of fantasy, but much of what I read these days is historical. Of the fantasy I have read this year, I can heartily recommend 1610 by Mary Gentle who is an awesome writer, and if you're into Raymond E Feist, the Jimmy the Hand book, although it's probably more one for fans.

Hey you! I have not been reading my flist at all lately so haven't read all your reading lists; anyway, I never know any books on it. ;) But I did want to recommend one to you that I just read (after a recommendation). You've probably heard of it and may even have read it. If not, you must; I think you'd like it. Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke...

Hello yourself!:) I'm glad you liked Jonathan Strange - I got it when it first came out and I loved it. Do try and get hold of the Ladies of Grace Adieu - it's not a Strange and Norrel novel but a collection of short stories set in the same universe. I loved it.
