the filthy 5k

 the filthy 5k was friday, you know the race that inspired me to start going to the gym? the reason i am in love with the gym now. so you'd think i would've done amazing at this race, right. i mean i've only been training for it for six months now. well, i did not to that well. i felt so out of shape. i felt better while doing the Monument 10k than i did doing this. i'm pretty bummed about my performance, i really thought i could do better. the whole time i was running i felt like i was going to puke, not sure if it was the heat or if i'm just really out of shape. but i was not feeling good. and i was wearing the worst clothes for the occasion. i went through a bag of clothes i was giving away and grabbed a shirt, shorts and shoes to run in. we were going to be getting muddy so i didn't want to wear anything that i wasn't ready to ruin. ha well the shorts were awful! i had to hold them up as i ran.

but that's no excuse, i should've done better. and next time, i will do better! i just need to get back to the gym...

and just today i signed up for a challenge on mapmyrun.com, the goal is to walk a marathon in 30 days. 26.2 miles in 30 days. go my own pace, walk when and where i want, for as long as i want.

i can't wait! i must have it done by july 1st. i'll keep you u
