This smile, this version of Sam, is always going to be my favourite, which is doubly heart wrenching when we realise that he's finally found someone he can see helping him move passed the pain of Jess's death and have some real happiness with. Only for her to have the end that she does. The writers on this show know how to break me, I'll give them that.

Madison made him smile so big, such a lovely, genuine smile. I think Sam cared about her, but as he said to Sarah Blake, people who get close to him get hurt, or killed. Which is why Sam being with Amelia never made any sense, and was very OOC. But I did like seeing him being able to open his heart to Madison, after what happened to Jess. Finding a little bit of happiness, even if it was very brief.

It's a great ep... perfect mix of happiness and angst.... poor Madison and Sam. *sigh*
