I love this Arlo Guthrie song (written by Steve Goodman) from his 1972 album Hobo's Lullaby. Such a great song, I agree. Thanks for reminding me of it.
Another song I love is A Horse with No Name. I love the images it evokes. I spent a lot of time in the desert when I was a child, so I can picture him riding on his horse in the desert.

Totally a great song, I'm glad you think so, too. You're very welcome! I hadn't heard it in awhile, too. It showed up on my youtube feed and once I heard it again and saw the beautiful and very moving video, I had to share it!

I love A Horse with No Name, too. Like the City of New Orleans song, it evokes some great images. How wonderful that you spent a lot of time in the desert as a child and I'm sure it makes that song even more meaningful for you.

I love that song. I never really paid that much attention to the lyrics, but those are cool. It has been awhile since I've heard the song, hope it won't be forever till I hear it again. It is indeed, a golden oldie.

I've always liked this song, too! I especially like Willie Nelson's version. :)
