I don't like this episode because Missouri is kind of dismissive to Dean. And how the father hides from them. But in this episode, again, they talk a lot about Sam and his abilities. There are too many questions in this episode to which we are not given answers. Too far "throw the bait", not soon we will all know.
It goes both ways. Dean asked Missouri where their dad was and if he was ok. She didn't know. Dean replied "Don't know? Well, you're supposed to be a psychic, right?" He was rude to her. She was also reading his mind, and he was giving her attitude. So, she was snarky in return. Dean was also insensitive to Jenny, when she was upset, and Missouri didn't let him get away with it. That's why she said he wasn't the smartest tool in the shed. It did seem a bit much at times, but I think if Dean had been more respectful, she would've treated him differently.
John hiding from his boys is his thing for most of the season, so I even though I didn't like it, it didn't make me like the ep less.
Yes, they gave us a lot of unanswered questions. Some of them are being held off until the climax of the season, some will never be answered.
1. Yes, it was the right time for the reveal. 2. Exactly. It took time for him to process it, and he wasn't ready yet. 3. Yes, it's interesting to think about this. It was more than what Missouri expected. That's a good point, maybe the YED had something to do with it. Like you say, it's the third in a series of events, and the beginning of something. 4. Haha, yeah. They knew the needed to work FAST, but they worked as slowly as possible, LOL. 5. The YED asked John if he knew the truth about Sam and the other special children, and John said he did, and had known for awhile. Maybe they hadn't figured out all the details when this script was written, so that's why it didn't line up later on (the truth). 6. The take your brother outside moment was a very good one. I hadn't thought of that... Dean couldn't tell it was Mary, but Sam could. 7. Both of those moments were great.
