Oooh, good picks! If I had to pick just one it's definitely "Christmas"; that episode has a special place in my heart as the one that made me realize oh, I am in love with this show and it owns my soul now. :P

"Croatoan," "Appointment in Samarra," and "Death's Door" were excellent episodes, too, though harder for me to judge as cliffhangers since I was bingeing those seasons. Of the seasons I've watched live, I remember being very OH MY GOD, I HAVE TO WAIT?! for the last three seasons, heh, despite having somewhat mixed feelings about 14 & 15. I wouldn't say another of those are as strong episodes as the other four I've mentioned, but for me they were good cliffhangers!

Thanks!♥ Yay, you've picked the christmas ep, too. It's special in so many ways! A perfect mix of humor and moving scenes that touch the heart.

All of these eps are excellent! I binge watched when I saw "Croatoan", and saw the others live. Even though I didn't have to wait, the secret about Sam hit me as an excellent cliffhanger! It's something I wanted to know ASAP, and luckily I didn't have to wait, lol. "Appointment in Samarra" had me wondering about Sam's soul, and "Death's Door" had me sad about Bobby. The later seasons weren't as strong, but some of them had good cliffhangers.

A Very Supernatural Christmas - definitely. The drinking scene by the tree is the best scene in the series )))

So many good ones! I have to pick two - A Very Supernatural Christmas for all the reasons you gave plus using a Christmas tree to kill a pagan god! And Heaven and Hell for all the angst and Dean/Anna on the backseat!
