Such a powerful scene!

It's interesting that we see Sam with yellow eyes in this scene and in Yellow Fever (as hallucinations) but Sam's eyes turn black in the season finale, not yellow.

I think that was because Sam himself was always so afraid he was turning into Azazal!

That is interesting. I'm thinking it's because the yellow eyes here and in Yellow Fever show the fears by Dean and Sam in their hallucinations - that Sam would become like Yellow Eyes because of what he did.

Oh man, Sam stuck in the panic room. D: I agree with the previous comments that the yellow color was a reflection of his fear of becoming like Azazel.
