I love dogs and it would hurt to know that a cute little dog was being grown to be eaten... but I can't agree with this cause. I feel quite strongly that it is culturally bigoted.

This is terrible cruelty, and I don't see how it is "bigoted" to be against this. It's wrong, no matter what country is doing it.

Do you tell people who eat pig or cow or chicken the same thing? Are these animals exempt because they are not cute to you? I know several people who keep pigs as pets. There are also cultures that don't believe in eating these animals. There are individuals in many countries who have decided for themselves that they will not eat meat. That doesn't mean that they should force the belief on other people. Westerners viewing the Chinese culture from their own western point of view and calling it wrong is nothing but bigotted IMO.

I'm vegetarian, and I'm against animal cruelty. Cruelty knows no borders. Many countries do things that are culturally acceptable to them (like human trafficking)... it doesn't mean that we should ignore it, just because they think it's ok.

Yes. I remember hearing about it a long time ago, how Oscar had a problem with his bones. I found the vid and watched it again, because I've forgotten some of the details. It's great that Oscar is doing so well now. :)

Yep, that's the video I was talking about. I have seen another video of Jensen playing basketball and Oscar jumping all over the court so the surgery paid off. I'm sure that surgery cost several thousand dollars. No wonder most people can't afford it. He's a very cute dog.

Glad you like the Elijah/kitty icon I used before. I don't remember anymore who made it.
