Yes, he would've done the same thing, and it's wonderful to hear Jared say this. OMG, Jared does look gorgeous... the scarf, the scruff, the pretty hair!
Now see I feel differently...I honestly don't think Sam would have risked his life for Dean. I can't remember which episode it was but Sam told Dean straight up that he wouldn't have went to look for Dean if the roles were reversed. I've always thought Sam was selfish and his loyalty wasn't as strong as Dean's.

It was ep 9.13, "The Purge".
Sam said this because Dean had let Gadreel possess him without his permission. People say things when they're upset that they don't really mean. Later on, in ep 9.23, Sam said "I lied". in season 10, in "The Book of the Damned", Dean brings it up again, and Sam says "You know I didn't mean that."
At the end of the season 9 finale, Sam was ready to make a deal. Crowley said " Your brother, bless his soul, is summoning me as I speak. Make a deal, bring you back."
I've always thought Sam was selfish and his loyalty wasn't as strong as Dean's.Sam started out as the "reluctant hero", like Luke Skywalker. He didn't go to Stanford because he was selfish; deep down inside, he always thought he was freak, and that's why he wanted a normal life. But he still left to go hunting with Dean
( ... )
YESYESYES. The boys can talk all they want about not making deals to save each other but they'd totally do something like that to save each other. Thinking about this now makes me wish that we'll get to see fierce!Sam and protective!Sam in S12. <3
